Remembering Dolly

My heart is in a thousand pieces.

My precious Dolly crossed the rainbow bridge on Wednesday 9th October 2024.

As Dolly was a rescue, I never knew her real age, but was told she was around 8 when we first met on the 18th February 2017.  That would have made her 15 years & 8 months when she passed.  No-one could believe her age & thought she was much younger than her years as she was so agile & sprightly.  In late September, Dolly went off her food & didn't seem herself.  A blood test revealed she had kidney disease, which rapidly progressed to stage 4 kidney failure.  She had no common symptoms prior to this, but within two weeks of that blood test she was gone.

I grew up with dogs in the family, but Dolly was my first dog.  She changed my life in more ways than I could ever have imagined & was the inspiration behind Dolly's Dog Grooming & Spa.

Dolly's favourite place was the beach. She would run like a young pup across the sand & loved sitting in the sun, she even loved joining me on the paddle board!  I have so many happy memories of our time together.  I never knew of her past, but I wanted her life with me to be the happiest yet & for her to experience the best of everything.  She was my best friend & was always by my side.  If you have your woof beside you, give them an extra squeeze in Dolly's memory.

To my girl,

Life will never be the same without you by my side, I will love & miss you always.
